Add Hotmail, MSN, Live Mail in MS Outlook As Internet Mail

In the previous post we had a look how to syncronise your Hotmail, etc in Outlook.
Today we have a look how to configure MS Outlook with POP3 and SMTP settings.

Steps:

  1. Launch MS Outlook if necessary
  2. Select from the Menu: Tools | Account Settings
  3. Select New
  4. Select Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP
    Add New E-Mail
  5. Select Next
  6. Enable Manually configure server settings or additional server types

  7. Select Next
  8. Select Internet E-Mail
    Choose E-Mail Service
  9. Click Next
  10. Complete the Information as follows:
    • Your Name: Type your display name
    • E-Mail Address: Type your Hotmail, MSN or Windows Live e-mail address
    • Account Type: Select POP3
    • Incoming Mail Server: Type pop3.live.com
    • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): Type smtp.live.com
    • Username: Type your e-mail address
    • Password: Type your password

    E-Mail Settings

  11. Select More Settings
  12. Select Advanced Tab Page
    • Incoming server(POP3): Type 995
    • Enable This server requires an encrypted connection checkbox
    • Outgoing server (SMTP): Type 587 or 25
    • Use the following type of encrypted connection: Select Auto
      Note: Select TLS if you get an error when sending mail.
    • Optional: Leave a copy of messages on the server.
      Then it will be in Outlook and on your webmail – Inbox Only, will not leave a copy of sent messages from Outlook on the webmail server.

    Advanced Settings

  13. Select Outgoing Server Tab Page
    • Enable My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
    • Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server

  14. Select OK
  15. Select Next
  16. Select Finish

Esta Bom! That’s It. Now you are ready to receive those e-mails via Internet Mail
